Push notifications not working

Step-by-step guide to fix missing push notifications: check app status, device settings, Do Not Disturb and battery saver.

If VocaLingo push notifications are not arriving, follow these steps to diagnose and fix the issue.

Step 1: Check status in the app

  1. Go to ProfileSettingsNotifications.

  2. Check the status: Enabled, Disabled or Not configured.

  3. If it shows Disabled, follow the steps in Push notifications to enable them.


Step 2: Check device settings

iOS: Settings → VocaLingo → Notifications → make sure Allow Notifications is on and at least one delivery method (Lock Screen, Notification Centre or Banners) is enabled.

Android: Settings → Apps → VocaLingo → Notifications → check that notifications are allowed.


Step 3: Other common causes

  • Do Not Disturb or Focus mode: these modes block notifications silently. Check that VocaLingo is allowed through your Focus settings.

  • Battery saver mode: on Android, aggressive battery saving can prevent background delivery. Whitelist VocaLingo from battery optimization.

  • No internet connection at delivery time: notifications require a network connection to arrive.

  • Old notification subscription: log out and back in to refresh the push notification token.
