What are tokens and how they are spent

Tokens are the in-app currency for AI processing. Learn what they cost, how to earn them and where they are spent.

Tokens are the in-app currency used to pay for AI processing in VocaLingo. Each tool charges a certain number of tokens depending on what it does. You can buy tokens at any time or receive them through a Premium subscription.

How tokens work

When you start a task, the app shows an estimate of how many tokens it will use. Tokens are deducted from your balance when processing completes.

Your current balance is always visible on the Profile tab.

How to get tokens

  • New user bonus: 30 tokens are credited automatically when you create a full account (guest mode has no signup bonus).

  • Buy tokens: one-time token packages are available in Profile under Buy tokens.

  • Premium subscription: 1,000 tokens are added to your balance every month.

What costs tokens

  • Translating audio and video

  • Transcribing audio or video to text

  • Generating speech with Text to Speech

  • Running text analysis

  • Sending messages in AI Chat

  • Activating a MiniMax Custom Voice (one-time, 150 tokens)

Viewing results from History, downloading files and sharing do not cost tokens.

Frequently asked questions

Purchased tokens do not expire. Tokens from a Premium subscription are added each billing period. If you cancel Premium, the tokens you have already received stay in your balance.

Processing requests are blocked when your balance reaches zero. Buy more tokens from Profile or subscribe to Premium to continue. See Not enough tokens for steps.

Yes. Go to Profile and tap Usage History to see a log of all token charges, grants and purchases with dates and amounts.
