Text Translator converts typed or dictated text between languages, detects the source language, and can read the result aloud. To rewrite text that is already on a photo, use How to translate text from a photo.

How to translate text

  1. Open Text Translator from Tools, a home-screen shortcut, or Share.

  2. Type, paste or tap Dictate.

  3. Pick languages. Source can stay on Auto-detect.

  4. Tap Translate, or wait for auto-translate as you type.

  5. Use Listen, Copy or Share on the result.

💡 Gemini 3.7 Flash is the default and the model used for Caucasian languages. Flash Lite is cheapest for short phrases. GPT-4o and GPT 5.6 Luna help when Gemini is blocked.

How much it costs

Typed translation spends tokens on the selected text model. Listen adds TTS. Photo translation is billed separately. See Token pricing for each tool.
