Instead of uploading a file, you can paste a link to a video or audio and VocaLingo will download it automatically. Supported in Speech to Text, Text Analysis, Translate Audio and Translate Video.
How to import from a link
Open the tool (for example, Speech to Text).
In the file selection area, tap Paste link.
Enter or paste the URL and tap Download.
The app downloads the file (Downloading…), then saves it (Saving…).
Once ready, the file appears in the tool as if you had uploaded it manually.
Supported sources
YouTube — any public video (youtube.com, youtu.be)
Instagram — public Reels and videos
TikTok — public videos
Direct file URLs — links ending in .mp3, .mp4, .wav, .ogg and other supported formats
ℹ️ Private, age-restricted or members-only content cannot be downloaded. The content must be publicly accessible without signing in.
Tips
Copy the link from the share menu of the social app rather than the address bar — share links tend to be more reliable
For YouTube, use the full URL from the address bar or the Share → Copy link option
For very long videos, download only proceeds if the resulting file fits within the size limit
