VocaLingo sends push notifications for practice reminders, completed video jobs and other in-app events. This article explains what you receive and how to enable notifications.

What notifications you receive

  • Practice reminders: reminders you set through AI Chat (for example, "Remind me to study at 8pm")

  • Video translation ready: when a long Translate Video job finishes in the background

  • Video to Text ready: when transcription finishes after you started a job in How Video to Text works. Tap the notification to open the result.

  • Download ready: when a link import finishes while the app is in the background (for example, a video downloaded for Video to Text or Translate Video)

  • Chat replies: if you leave the app while a chat message is being processed, you may receive a notification when the reply is ready

Checking notification status

  1. Go to Profile at the bottom of the screen.

  2. Tap Settings.

  3. Tap Notifications.

  4. The status shows: Enabled, Disabled or Not configured.

Enabling notifications

If notifications are disabled, enable them in your device settings:

  • iOS: Settings → VocaLingo → Notifications → toggle Allow Notifications on.

  • Android: Settings → Apps → VocaLingo → Notifications → enable.

  • Web: allow notifications when the browser prompts you.

ℹ️ The app cannot request notification permission a second time if you previously denied it on mobile. Enable it manually in device settings.
